Many of these small paintings, evoking landscapes and watery coastscapes, emerged in a workshop taught by Joan Anderson, a wonderful and gifted artist and teacher in Boulder, Colorado. Her concept of the Invented Landscape gave me insight and momentum in my return to painting. I’m grateful to Joan for her generosity and encouragement and her serene, joyful, spiritual approach to painting.
